Many businesses / self-employed individuals had to close their businesses for many weeks from 2020 due to official orders (Corona).
Some restaurants, hotels, hairdressers, ... had insured themselves against business closures.
Some insurers initially promised full payment, but shortly thereafter refused to pay or offered at most 15% (as a gesture of goodwill).
Due to missing income and ongoing costs (= sharply declining liquidity), many policyholders had to sign the declaration of acceptance (gritting their teeth). This resulted in a "settlement agreement".
How can this settlement be rendered ineffective and how can one sue for full insurance benefits (100%)?
There is a very helpful video on this topic on the internet by Lars Krohn LL.M., attorney at the Michaelis law firm:
"Business closure insurance: Short-changed by the Bavarian solution?"

He mentions three very important court rulings on this topic. Support from two litigation funders is also mentioned, which is interesting if you do not have legal expenses insurance for your self-employment.
Please note the short filing deadline for lawsuits. Too often lawyers file a lawsuit too late, making a claim no longer possible.
Already on the topic "Fraud by banks and savings banks" a post briefly described a missed deadline by a lawyer and the resulting substantial damage.
